Napa cabbage, kohlrabi, and garlic scapes!
Whether you’re in our CSA or get veggies through our partnerships with Adventist or KITE Realty, you may have gotten some unfamiliar vegetables and wondered what to do with them. This blog post will give a quick rundown of a few and include some recipes on how to enjoy them!
Napa cabbage:
A type of Chinese cabbage with crinkly light green leaves and thick crunchy white stems.
Mild and sweet flavor with a tender texture.
Great for making kimchi!
Kohlrabi:
A member of the brassica family, along with cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and collard greens.
Super crunchy and sweet in flavor!
Peel and then enjoy raw with your favorite dip or roast in the oven.
Garlic scapes:
The flowering shoot of a garlic plant that we snap off before it flowers to let the garlic bulb grow big.
Full of delicious garlic flavor without the “bite” of raw garlic cloves.
Fantastic blended into a pesto or pasta sauce!
