Our Add-On options

Our thing is vegetables, that’s what we grow and that’s what we’ve built our CSA on. However, rarely do people eat ONLY vegetables! And our local agriculture community is beautifully diverse with livestock, flower, and mushroom growers out there, among others.

In order to offer more variety to our members, and to in turn offer support to our fellow farmers, we now have 4 add-on options for the CSA! Some are for the whole season and others are just for smaller chunks of time.

Mushrooms

Our OG add-on, these fantastic mushrooms come from just down the road at Happy Farm in Dickerson. This is our full-season option and is available all year long. The varieties change from week to week, but frequent flyers are shitake, grey oyster, and yellow oyster. It’s never been easier to add local, vegetarian protein to your diet!

Eggs

We’ve long been asked to offer local eggs, and in the past couple of years we made it happen! We source from Bella Vita Farm, in Brookeville. Currently the egg add-on is a summer treat, but depending on how the chickens perform this year, we may add a fall option. The eggs are from happy, pastured hens and are delicious!

Flowers

Our only non-edible add-on may just be the most beautiful! These flower bouquets come from Far Bungalow Farm over the river in Leesburg, Virginia. They focus on sustainable and seasonal growing practices, not always a given in the flower industry! This year we’re offering a 6-week flower share for the start of the summer season. Each week you’ll receive a new bouquet of whatever is blooming at the farm.

Fruit

And last but not least, we finally have a fruit share! The people have been asking for years, and we can finally make it work! Our friends at Lewis Orchards* in Dickerson have long been the local experts in fruit, and we’ll be getting the best of what’s in season for 8 weeks from July to August.
